China Fresh News - Bridge 1.88 billion yuan in China Collapsing

A bridge at a cost of billions of yuan in China collapsed on Friday, August 24, 2012. A total of three people were killed and five others injured in the incident.

Xinhua reported quoting the BBC, most of Yangmingtan Bridge in the city of Harbin, Heilongjiang province, suddenly collapsed. Four trucks on it immediately fell on the asphalt below.

These events are very unpredictable. Because the bridge just opened in November last year. The construction itself cost up to 1.88 billion yuan.

Officials are investigating the cause of the collapse of the bridge. It is estimated, the bridge is overloaded or improper construction. The trucks are the victims reportedly carrying fodder and rocks.

15.42 km long bridge that spans the river Songhua. The construction itself takes up to nine months. Parts of the bridge that collapsed along the 100 meters.

This is not the first time the event occurred in China bridge collapse. Since 2011, there have been six incidents in the country collapsed bridge. viva
